Hi all,

Sorry this is long but would appreciate any information you can share.

I'm interested in knowing what health insurance you have. I will be turning 65 this year and have been getting a LOT of Medicare information in the mail. It's overwhelming!

I had a kidney transplant, May 12th, will be 30 years. I currently work full-time but not sure how much longer I'll be able to. I have insurance through my employer. I want to be prepared as to what Medicare insurance is best for transplant recipients.

It appears there's 2 Medicare options in addition to Part and B.

> Medicare Advantage (C) - I read this is not ideal being the network is limited and costs can add up.

> Medigap G- a supplemental with a monthly premium. But, there's no costs (copays etc.) and it's a PPO so you can go anywhere, see any provider (as long as they accept Medicare). I was told this might be better for chronic illness.

Will also need additional plan(s) for drugs, dental, vision.

Is anyone using the new Part B-ID that covers immunosuppresents? Costs, thoughts?

It's ridiculous how expensive health insurance is!!

I'd like to know who you use and what your experiences are with the Medicare plans you have in regards to covering our transplant recipient needs.

As always, I appreciate your information !

Thank you, take care 😊 🙏
