Happy World Kidney Day! I will be doing those same things!
I was thinking this morning about how I ended up at the doctor's office when I was 16 for them to diagnose me with Lupus Nephritis. I remember the only symptoms I had were fatigue and back pain. The symptoms persisted and my mom took me to the doctor. It took a lot of tests to find out what was actually going on with my kidneys. By the time I was 24, I had a kidney transplant because the Lupus destroyed both of my kidneys. I am glad my mom took me to the doctor. We were able to slow down the process of CKD for a little bit.
I was on the worldkidney.org website and found some tips they listed to help take care of our kidneys. I thought these were good reminders.
Keep fit, be active
Eat a healthy diet
Check and control blood sugar
Check and control your blood pressure
Take appropriate fluid intake
Don't smoke
Don't take over-the-counter anti-inflammatory pills regularly.
