Getting the call!!

my wife answered the phone at 2:30 in the morning, she was walking down the hallway and I was like who is she talking to. Then she looks at me and gives me the thumbs up and we both start crying. We arrived at KU around 3:15 am but didn’t go to surgery until about 1:40 pm!! I was scared and excited and nervous. I had been on the list just over a year. It was truly an amazing day. I just want everyone to know the real hero’s in this journey are the donors and their families. Thank you for this beautiful gift of life.
