Head cold:

I caught a real bad head cold early yesterday morning. I’m taking the normal things, acetaminophen, generic mucinex and some Halls cough drops. Any suggestions? This is a real bad one. I know with being on Tac you are more likely to get an infection or virus. And I know it’s harder fighting it. Any suggestions would be awesome. And I am gargling with warm salt water for my throat. Thanks.

I use Vicks Vapor rub. I rub it on my throat and chest and wrap my throat in warm towels. It clears my nose and really helps with the sore throat. My grandmother used to rub it on my feet as well. Don’t know if that helped but on my chest and throat it sure does help me breath. Hope you feel better soon!!
Transplant Patient
I feel incredibly lucky that in my 4 years post transplant I've only ever had 1 cold. But whenever I start to feel anything outside the norm, I always try to put a focus on upping my fluid intake, getting more rest... I'll use aromatherapy to help with sinus congestion, steamy showers or really hot baths, some kind of vapour rub like @Debbie said.
+1 on the fluid intake, @AliEm14!
I do lots of teas and lemon water. If nothing else, I feel cozy! š
Hope you feel better soon!
Thank you all so much for your help. It’s the weirdest thing, I was sick since early Monday morning n by yesterday I started feeling really well. I would say I felt 90% better. But this morning I woke up n it was like Monday morning all over again. Frustrating. But I will get back to doing some of the things y’all have suggested n try to be patient. Thanks again for your help.
