12 year anniversary

12 years ago today I received my new kidney from my Father. What a ride it has been! Thank you Pappa for giving me life, then saving my life which in turn allowed me to give life to my Liv - I treasure this gift so highly it sometimes makes me cry but most often keeps me smiling even when times are not perfect

Hearing all these stories of people making it 10, 12, 15, 20 years with their transplanted organs is making me emotional this morning. It gives me so much hope. Sometimes being in that first year just feels like barely getting by so knowing there is so much life still to come makes me so hopeful
