Dialysis vs Transplant

To me, as someone who has a transplant, I clearly see the benefit in having a transplant vs being on dialysis. However for those who have been on dialysis for years and do not have all the information on what transplant is about - it might seem scary?? I wonder how we can share more hope and get better education out there?

As someone who has once been transplanted I see the obvious benefits of it. As now an active dialysis patient for the past 5 years I think patient empowerment is key. I think that having conversations with other patients and their caregivers really can go a long way in starting the conversation about transplant from preemptive to just the education on transplant while on dialysis. I think its important to bring in trusted folks into the conversation for the patients sake.
