Buy and Bill? Trying to get my son on Belatacept still.
Hi beautiful people,
So, I have been able to get the Belatacept infusion approved with my Son's insurance company but now the infusion center is saying it has to be a buy and bill arrangement. My Son's nurse at the neprologist is communicating with the infusion center but it has been going on for over a month. I have even stated I am willing to pay up front and get reimbursed but nothing is moving forward. Has anyone else been in this situation and if so how did you get it going?????
Thanks,
Kim

Did you reach out to the manufacturer and see if they have a program that may help? Is he outside of the 3 year post transplant window?
I get monthly infusions and have never been asked to do a buy and bill. If insurance covers it - why would they make you pay first? Is there another infusion center he can go to?
Hi Stacey,
Thank you for your reply. He is almost 4 years post transplant so he has private insurance not Medicare. I did send in the application to the manufacturer but then his nurse was able to get the approval from his insurance company. She sent everything to the infusion center and they are saying it has to be a buy and bill. Knowing that you have not experienced this issue helps so I will see if there is another center that would administer it and get my wheels squeaking louder!
