Connections to Ancestors

Hello all,

Just another thought exercise / something I've been thinking about of late. With so many beliefs and systems of connection built around one's ties with their ancestors, what do we think about the link between recipient and the ancestors of the donor?

Biologically perhaps not as much, yet in a spiritual or metaphysical sense could the recipient be considered as part of that lineage (for lack of better words)?


Curious how these concepts have been approached by those with living donors or who have met with the family of their donors.

    This has taken my thoughts on this to a whole different level!

    I did do the DNA test immediately after my transplant to see if any of my donor's DNA would show up, just out of curiosity

    I've never thought of my donor being part of any kind of lineage where maybe they do believe things can be passed down like that. I personally don't want to know who my donor is, I have no interest in meeting their family, but this is a topic I'd be curious about
