Shingle vaccine

Anyone taken it?
I took it today together with the flu vaccine - tried to be efficient at CVS!
Now my left arm is in huge pain and I am feeling very weird - reading up about it and it seems normal! Anything to prevent serious disease! Friends of mine in their 40s have been affected greatly by Guillain Barre so I am taking it to avoid that! I do have to go back and take the second dose within a year but after 2-6 months.
I do recommend taking these vaccines
I was silly last year to forget the flu vaccine and had a bad case of it in Jan that I don’t want to repeat.

That reminds me to get my shots. I didn't get the shingles shots last year. I dont use CVS anymore. Too many multi hair colored employees with piercings and tattoos. They scare me.

We had a great experience at CVS Westport - only sweet and competent people! So sorry about your experience / I understand when you don’t feel safe in a place where you are getting your drugs and shots! Hope these individuals are just expressing their creativity by their looks vs being aggressive or dismissive. Ours were commenting on our dog and being sweet to my daughter and they did represent different skin colors and hair dos!
I am not into the current trend of individual expression. They make me very uncomfortable and there are plenty of other places who are welcome of my business.
I was told to never mix vaccines because of the side effects. I still have not received my shingles I’m scared I’ll get sick but scared I’ll get them…. Ugh!!!!!
The shingles shot is no joke! I had mine twice since my liver transplant, and both times I felt kinda bad. The arm pain was awful, but the benefits are worth it.
Oh, the shingles vaccine. Wow that was a doozy. Typically I have very mild side effects from vaccines but the shingles... It was rough. Sorry arm, body aches, feeling overall like garbage for 24 hours. And two of them! But, I agree anything to prevent serious diseases. One day of discomfort is easier to manage than serious illness.

Good morning and what a bad night it was! I don’t think I have felt this bad since before my transplant and it was a different kind of bad. The arm pain is one thing - annoying and very painful, but the malaise is tremendous. I took a diklofenak (voltaren) last night since I was shivering and in pain, which led to severe nausea and vomiting over night and diarrhea. The unsettling feeling remained all night and I started thinking I was going crazy. If this is any indication of what shingles would be like - count me in for the second one in less than one year (but I am not looking fwd to this again).
I completed the series last year and am glad I did - two very close friends just got shingles a few months apart and we are not yet 50. I don't recall feeling badly with it but it's very well I did. Here's to healing!

After one Tylenol and some rest in them morning my day was back to normal - but what a reminder of how important vaccines are to protect against something so much worse!!
Yeah, it needs to be done. I had had shingles twice in my 40’s. It was a horrible experience. So I had the shots. The vaccines made me me very sick for 2 days each dose. But compared to the disease, I would do it again. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon!
