What are you grateful for?

With the US Thanksgiving coming up (and Alicia’s birthday ❤️), we reflect on what is good in our life and what we are grateful for. What are you grateful for?

My list could go on for pages and pages, my heart is bursting with gratitude tonight. That is not always the case tho. I’d like to refer to this post when I am having one of those not so grateful days to remind myself about what is important.

Tonight, I am grateful to my donor and his family. I am grateful to have shared an extra 33 months with my daughters and partner. I have a roof over my head, food, a vehicle to get to Dr. appointments and insurance to pay for it. It may sound simple but sometimes it is the simple things that matter.

I hope everyone has a healthy, peaceful hospital free holiday.

I am grateful for my life. The good and bad. I am grateful that I am well today. I am grateful that I can look back and see my future. It's a blessing to be able to look back and use that to pad your future for the better with some humility. I am blessed to have my fur babies. My rock of a husband. I am blessed for having this platform and all of you here. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤. Happy Thanksgiving.

    Happy birthday, @AliEm14

There is so much I hold close in my heart, but my donor will always be the reason I am able to live this new chapter. His gift is the kind of blessing that changes everything. I am also deeply thankful for my TransplantLyfe and KidneyLyfe community. It has brought incredible people into my life and given me a space where my voice truly matters. And this weekend, being at a concert after my transplant, I felt something I have not felt in so long. The freedom to travel, to enjoy life, and to move without limits reminded me that I am living my miracle every single day.

Because of that miracle, I’m able to pour my heart into advocacy work that helps others feel seen, supported, and hopeful. It means everything to use my journey to lift someone else up.

    Happy Birthday @AliEm14
