Different does not mean bad

Merry Christmas, Solstice, Hanukkah. This year celebrating is different. Yesterday I felt sad but today I realize that developing new traditions is healthy. Just because this holiday is different, it is not bad. I miss the life I lived pre-transplant but my life today is good, just different.

Is it worse different or better different? Or maybe just mixed?
Mostly good just feeling the difference. My kids are grown so the holiday traditions are different. This year people were sick so we postponed celebrating till New Year’s Eve. Very quiet, peaceful holiday all in all.

This year was different for me too. The last few months of 2025 have been a whirlwind and have definitely knocked me around a little. I usually love Christmas, and this year I found myself just wanting it to be over. I love this reminder that different can just mean different, and I don’t have to put a label on it. I can just choose to be in the moment, honour my feelings and give myself grace for being human
