Introducing Myself!
Hi! My name is Yarieli Cuevas (Yari for short). I'm 29 years old and I was diagnosed with CKD when I was 3 years old. Between the ages of 7-11, I went through in clinic hemodialysis, PD and a transplant.
The transplant lasted 11 years (2008-2019) and I've been back on dialysis ever since. Started back in center and since 2020 I've been doing home hemo. While on dialysis I've also been waiting for a new kidney.
Since my teen years I've been a big advocate for kidney patients specially for the latino/ hispanic community. I also love working with patients doing the transition from pediatrics to adult or just younger patients that need someone to talk to.
I have a full time life, a husband, my own home, 4 pets and I love to travel! If I'm able to do all this I'm sure others can too.
I'm looking forward to sharing my experience with anyone who needs it, please feel free to write to me at any moment.

I’m sorry to hear you’re back on dialysis, I’ll be around to talk anytime!
Hi, glad you’re listed for a new kidney. I’m nearly 24 years post kidney and pancreas transplant. Hope you get “the call” soon! 🩵🌀🙏💙
Hi Yari, you know I am a big admirer of yours
Thank you so much for sharing your story. Your journey and resilience are incredible, and the way you show up for other patients, especially in the Latino community and for younger patients, truly matters.
I am a two-time kidney transplant recipient. My first kidney lasted 20 years, and I am now 4 months post with my second. Reading how full and vibrant your life is while navigating dialysis is such an important reminder that this disease does not define us.
I’m so glad you are here and willing to share your experience. People are lucky to have you as a voice and a support.

Welcome! I had a liver transplant 5 years ago for a genetic condition. Growing up in the medical world, I also spend a lot of time with pediatric patients/families. My time on peds changed so much for me, and any way I can give back or support other young people is so important to me.
Hi Yarieli! I am so glad you are here! What an incredible journey you've had and continue to have. I have a lot of interest on the topic of transitioning from pediatric to adult so I would love to connect with you on that.
I was diagnosed with CKD at 15 and then went on dialysis at 18. I was lucky enough to get a kidney from my mom a few short months after starting PD. Next month will be 9 years since my kidney transplant. I look forward to learning more about your story!
