Just asking because they lowered my Prograf to 3mgs a day. 2 in the morning n 1 at night. Doing so because kidney #s aren’t that great. My team has been protecting the kidneys since liver transplant almost 3 years ago. How many msgs do the liver transplant patients on this site take per day?

Kevin R.

@AliEm14 stay strong. So young 4 a transplant n yet still so brave through all of these complications.

I'm on 4mg once a day and I've been really stable at that dose for quite a while. I'm 6 years out, and so far my kidneys are doing fantastic (crossing my fingers they stay that way!)

19 months post transplant here and I'm currently on 1mg twice a day. This was the latest change they made (about 3 months ago) due to slightly higher than normal kidney levels. Along with this change they put me on 500mg mycophenolate twice a day as well. After recent bloodworks my levels are slowly getting better and having gotten worse. Also this is my second transplant which I got in December 2024. My first transplant was back in April 2019. I'm 53 yrs old and an avid runner. Hope this helps. Good luck with your recovery.

7 months post liver. 64 years old.

0.5 Tacro a.m. 0.5 p.m. blood tests show low, but doc not worried.

Tacro is keeping my magnesium low, which upsets my liver doc, and my cardiologist.

    stopped cellcept after 2 months.

2.5 years post liver, 43yrs old, after bout of rejection 6 months ago they lowered my tacro dose to 1mg twice daily (to protect kidneys) and increased mycophenolate to 1000mg twice daily. The higher mycophenolate definitely messes with the gut but has less tremor.
