Kidney
Lymphoma after transplant
Updated August 4, 2021

I was on my second kidney transplant and I got sick and they didn’t know what was going on. My coordinator recognized my symptoms and had me checked for Lymphoma (PTLD). I was positive and went through chemo. Weird thing was, my numbers improved. They lowered my rejections meds to almost nothing and my kidney function got better. Meds are still low today 6 years later.
My question is, anyone else with lymphoma and any residual side effects from the chemo? I get super tired and worn out easily. Thoughts or experiences?????

I was tested for PTLD but the test was negative.
I’m curious to see if any others had a similar experience. I believe it’s possible. The body is a strange thing and then add in drugs that have strange effects and alter your cells. From what I’ve heard from friends who have undergone chemo the residual tiredness is normal. The body did a really hard thing, and fought so hard to stay alive sometimes it just needs a break!
