Can we (on tacrolimus) eat dried mushrooms? I put in hot tea? Or crush to use as powder?

Hello.

1.Can liver transplant patients on tacrolimus eat dried mushrooms? I used to drink mudwater. I also dried & crushed them into power derived for hot tea or as a seasoning.

Some say no cause it's a fungus?

2.Also some say we can't eat raw mushrooms, only cooked?

Do you?

    I do. Some people don’t.

I don’t like the word should. I personally prefer education on risks and benefits and making an informed decision myself. Every body is different. It’s about what you personally are willing to do.

the only thing I 100% avoid is grapefruit, for its tacrolimus interactions. There are a lot of other “shoulds” I have weighed the risks and benefits for myself and have chosen to do, or not do
