Post-transplant large bump - Hernia??

So, I am 3 months post-kidney transplant. Lots of ups and downs, but making progress. I have this huge abdominal mass. With my loss of weight, it is kinda obvious. So, It may be a hernia at the graft site. My doctors says if it is a hernia, it will involve surgery and not to even worry about it for 6-12 months. I have had enough surgery for the time being.

As I know nothing about such hernia's, hopefully some of you can fill me in. How common? Alternatives to surgery? what does the surgery entail - and how debilitating? When did you get it done? What questions should I be asking my team?

Thanks!

I’ve had a hernia since my transplant 2 years ago. They could operate on it, but I don’t want that. As long as it doesn’t cause any issues I’ll leave it. I have done physiotherapy and massage to help with the muscles themselves, which has helped
