Tetris for Trauma

Did you know playing Tetris can reduce your likelihood of developing medical PTSD? Because I sure didn’t!
i just read a study that playing Tetris shortly after an emergency surgery or in a hospital situation, can decrease your likelihood of developing PTSD from the event. It’s because Tetris engages the visual spatial part of the brain, which can reduce the likelihood of trauma hardwiring, decreasing the traumatic memory loop replay and distress on a nervous system level.
isn’t the brain so cool? Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to go download Tetris!

@Shelbycreates i don’t know! I find it funny because when I was a kid in PEDS, one of the games they always had in the hospital was this virtual Tetris thing. I wonder if they knew that or if it was just a coincidence?
