Next steps for my hip ….
After a fantastic ten days in Europe - both business and pleasure - but for me business is almost always fun, I got back to reality in a brutal awakening Monday at HSS in NYC being told I need total hip replacement… I knew this was the case, but first tried a cortisone injection (lasted less than two weeks) and now there is even more narrowing of the joint, more fluid and more cysts and zero cartilage! Bone against bone makes for painful walking, no running and pain even when I lie down to sleep. I know several of you have had experience with this but has anyone done this when anemic (Hgb at 7.5) and with low kidney function? Please tell me it is going to be a breeze, because the Drs are saying it won’t!! #chinupbuthardtosmile
