Transplant Patient
I knew my first donor (my brother), my second transplant came from a deceased donor. I have really complicated feelings around both my donation stories. The story of donation isn't as simple or straight forward as it was before I entered the world of transplant.
I will say having a donor organ has changed the way I view the world. I feel a very intense connection with both my donors. I say I exist now not as a self but more like an eco system, and I experience the world through them. We are all interconnected in a way that has undeniably changed who I am.
