I am grateful that after my transplant I begin to walk again. After 7.5 years of complications on dialysis, I lost my ability to walk. I suffered a contusion to my left hip. I used a wheelchair for 7 months. The first time I walked was 2 days after I received my transplant. Even on days when I struggle, I walk to the mailbox.

Im grateful for time I get to spend with my family and friends. I find myself being the caretaker of so many and I love being able to do it!!

Right after my transplant I was grateful for being able to run after the bus without lung bleeding. Or being able to shower for a long time without suffocating due to the hot steam coming from the hot water. And being able to do everything for a long time. Laugh for a long time without coughing fit. Staying up for a long time because I had more energy. Walking for a long time etc. I have to say, after 21 years of transplant, those things have become normal to me again. Now I'm more grateful for the whole picture as in being alive and seeing my kid grow up.
