Happy kidney month!!

March always seemed happier to me than February, although since my daughter was born in 2018, that changed… In 2009 on 3/12 I received my first kidney transplant from by father and it also happens to be Kidney Month.
I am hopeful that the future is brighter than ever thanks to patient voices being stronger, science developing quickly and regulators being open to new ways to assess drug development, and xeno transplantation.
What are you hopeful for?

Thank you for all you’ve done for this community. I am hopeful for improved medications and continued xeno transplant development that allow patients earlier access pre-dialysis to transplantation while they are healthier.

I love that emphasis - earlier transplant pre-dialysis when they are healthier! So true that the relief you can get your transplant when you are in kidney failure the better. Thank you also for your kind comment - we are in this together!
How are you all celebrating World Kidney Day on March 13th? Do you take note of how you felt before CKD, during dialysis, after transplant (if that applies to you)? Do you do anything to celebrate, or raise awareness?
World Kidney day to me is calling my previous living kidney donor to still give gratitude even though the kidney has since failed (2020) I think about how it will feel when I eventually get my 2nd transplant the strength Ill feel. I look to talk to people in my circle of influence on the importance of CKD and Transplantation
