I think that's the biggest thing, being able to claim your power back after going through such a difficult thing. We have so much more power over the situation than we realize that we do.
The #giftoflife has meant that I get to watch my 4 young kids grow up (my baby was 1 when I had my transplant). I get to see my high schooler have his first crushes and go paddleboarding with my kids. I love that I can travel with ease. And I'm grateful to have my energy and vibrancy back.
I didn’t have no trouble at all with my transplant. My donor which was a friend gave me a kidney and we had 5 out of 7 DNA just alike. That’s a God thing. I’m going on 11 years. Never took a pain pill after my surgery. It was amazing.
