Hey Everyone! My name is Amanda and I had a heart transplant 17 years ago. I am currently back on the list for a second heart and a kidney this time. I love cooking, traveling, reading and baking sweet treats. I also have a podcast with my best friend called Unfiltered Survivors.

I wanted to open this discussion to allow people to introduce themselves and learn about each other. I’m excited to share our experiences and learn from everyone.

I'm so grateful we've got a few people in this group! Community is so important in this transplant adventure! What is the thing you're most grateful for in this weird year? For me, it's the opportunity to start a nonprofit to help other recipients and to share my story with so many! Look forward to hearing from you all!

Hey Shelly! Welcome! My transplant was 1/31/18 - we're almost transplant twins! What kind of puppy! I love dogs, but don't have one at the moment. Isn't the volunteer work so rewarding? It's baking season, I'm off to make some homemade granola for gifts!

Introducing myself to this engaging new group: I am Jim Gleason, living life to its fullest now out 26 years with my heart transplant done at the Hospital of the Univ of Penn Oct 19th, 1994. I provide service in leadership for many support organizations, but primarily as international president for TRIO (Transplant Recipients International Organization) and its TRIO Philadelphia local chapter. I work with that earlier poster, Sam Day, who also serves on the TRIO national board. Sam is working to resurrect our TRIO Nationals Capital chapter in the Washington DC area, so if you are interested, contact him or visit the TRIO web site at https://TRIOweb.org for more information. Thanks Karin and her team for making this resource available.
