Gilbertβs Syndrome
March 7, 2022
in Liver
Went in to the hospital this morning hoping to get clinical trial clearance, coming out with news of another genetic disorder π (also a mystery infection, that is denying me clearance to start the trial this round. Maybe the next one?)
anybody else have Gilbert’s syndrome? I’ve had issues with my bile duct and bilirubin since my transplant and my screenings just came back positive for Gilbert’s syndrome.

I haven't heard of Gilbert's Syndrome. You'll have to keep us posted. π

@Shelbycreates apparently it’s not super common. Leave it to me to collect the rare diseases π
I'm not the transplant patient, but years ago I was diagnosed with that and was told nothing to worry about as long as you drink enough water to keep the bilirubin flushed.

I definitely do drink a ton of fluids. In a normal circumstance I probably wouldn't have even known I had it, but thanks to transplant it just adds to my complications and things to watch for.
