I’m a post transplant, I was in the hospital since October and was released just before Christmas.
I came across this site and noticed it was active so I figured why not?
I’m just taking things day by day processing everything as I recover, I’m new to all this

Reach out anytime, I am almost 3 years post liver transplant.
New Guy, I had my liver transplant exactly 1 year ago, New Years day 2025. Take things slow, My doctors told me it would take a year before I was feeling good again , they are correct, today i feel great, My only other suggestion is to do some physical therapy, I lost so much muscle mass from being ill and the through all the recovery, actually 75lbs. I am just know greeting strength back . Good Luck , on your recovery and take it slow.
Great advice @Sac211.
Welcome @JBiz This is a great community!
Man, that is quite the lengthy stay. Welcome! Glad you were able to go home for the holidays! Wishing you a healthy 2026!
@Sac211 thank you I greatly appreciate the advice, yeah I’ve lost weight & muscle mass, I don’t look or feel my best right now. Congrats to you doing better, I’m hoping to be in your shoes down the road!
@Dom @Berriosa1234 @TheMac @Karin thank you so much everyone I appreciate it!
Happy New Year Everyone! As soon as it hit midnight Ned Flanders went to his kitchen to start his taxes lol
Update, sorry I’ve been away, sorting things out mentally and financially…
I’ve also taken up a couple of projects to help take my mind off of things since I can’t work right now
I also downloaded Duolingo to start learning German
Welcome!
I’m really glad you found this space. Coming out of a long hospital stay and into recovery can feel like a lot, especially when everything is still new. Taking things day by day is exactly the right approach.
You’re not alone here. There’s a lot of lived experience in this group, and it’s a good place to ask questions, vent, or just read when you’re up for it. Wishing you steady healing as you continue to recover.
PS I LOVE Duolingo too haha
Transplant Patient
Ok we need to start a team TransplantLyfe on Duolingo. I’m brushing up on my high school French and need streak friends!
Love that idea! I am on my 92-day streak in Spanish!
@Jeanmarie thank you very much!
@AliEm14 that’s not a bad idea, I chose German cause I’m half and I’ve always wanted to visit there, well Europe in general
I’ve noticed on Duolingo many are learning Castellano, I wonder if it’s a trend…
Can we do that?
yeah my anti rejections aren’t doing me a solid right now during Virus Season
I seriously feel sick, I’m gonna say something to my Handler tomorrow after Labs
